Yoshimi, as her name suggested, came from Japan and has been living in Singapore for a long time now. Months before her wedding, she decided to go back to Japan to spend some time with her mother who is staying alone in Tokyo. While she was away, Gary took on the responsibility to prepare for the wedding. He was attentive, he was thoughtful, and he was meticulous so that Yoshimi need not have to worry about the wedding preparation.

So why did I say Gary is thoughtful? He asked me to develop some prints for his mother-in-law before she flew back to Japan after the wedding. It was very rushed indeed and the moment I handed them the prints, they were so grateful and kept thanking me profusely. Definitely put on a wide smile on my face that day. I was really glad that I made that happen and Gary’s mother-in-law can bring back some tangible memories with her back home.

The beautiful Yoshimi wore a cheongsam gown from Giorgia Couture on her wedding day. Like porcelain, the gown exudes elegance. So much so that Gary could not take his eyes off her. I’m not even exaggerating, just check out the photos below.

Gary and Yoshimi celebrated their wedding in a very private and intimate manner with their esteemed guests. Hence, for this series of photos, I am omitting their guests due to privacy reasons.

Nonetheless, this is a joyous occasion and I was truly honoured to be a part of their special day.

Wedding photography is a fascinating genre! It captures the essence of one of the most significant days in a couple’s life. As a photographer, I have always enjoyed capturing beautiful moments of people. And weddings offer the perfect opportunity to do so.

One of the things I enjoy most about wedding photography is the unique challenge it poses. Every wedding is different, with its own set of challenges and opportunities. From capturing the intricate details of the bride’s dress to capturing the candid moments of the wedding party, every shot requires a different approach. That keeps me on my toes.

Moreover, another aspect of wedding photography that I find enjoyable is the emotional impact of the images. Weddings are all about emotions, and as a photographer, it is my job to capture those emotions through my lens. From the joy and excitement of the bride and groom to the love and support of their friends and family, each moment is unique and special. It is an incredible feeling to know that the images I capture will become cherished memories for the couple and their loved ones.

Wedding photography also allows me to be creative in my approach. While there are certain shots that are expected, such as the first kiss or the exchange of the rings, I also have the freedom to explore different angles, lighting, and compositions to create something truly unique. It is a chance to showcase my skills as a photographer. And to create something that the couple will treasure for a lifetime.

Best of all, wedding photography allows me to be a part of one of the happiest moments in people’s lives. As a photographer, I am often the only vendor who is with the couple throughout the entire day, from the getting ready moments to the reception and sending off the guests. I get to witness and capture all the love and joy that surrounds the couple on their wedding day. It is an honour to be a part of such a special day and to create memories that will be treasured for generations.

Clearly, shooting Frederick and Michelle’s wedding gave me all these reasons to enjoy my job thoroughly. The excitement of being in a new venue (to me), and observing Frederick having a barber to groom him in the hotel suite, these experiences are just so brand new to me. This is why I was happily triggering my cameras away and ended up with oodles of images. So, get ready for this exceedingly prolific post!

This day had been a whirlwind of emotions for Megan and Clarence, especially Megan.

Surrounded by their beloved families and relatives and warm congratulations from attending close friends. A sincere, heartfelt and touching speech from her significant other. I could feel the myriad of emotions swirling inside Megan.

The corners of her eyes dampened as water began to collect at the bottom lid of the eye. Many times she could tilt up her head just to hold back the tears. One thing led to the other, a stream of hot tears rolled down her powdered cheeks uncontrollably throughout the day.

Yet she was smiling, giggling and laughing away to the elation and jubilation that were lingering in the air.

I have been in the wedding photography for 18 years and never have I felt such intense emotions and strong affection. It really warmed my heart even after this while as I posted this set of sublime pictures. Although most of these pictures appear unglamorous (Sorry Megan if you are reading this post), these raw feelings and endearment are such a joy to share.

This post shall serve as a reminder for the couple that they are surrounded by so much love as they reminisce over these images. Particularly for Megan who I doubt she can remember these moments when she was behind her teary eyes most of the time.

Thank you for having me as your wedding photographer, whereby I can experience such love first-hand.

Seeing Jennifer’s expression of ecstasy and exhilaration on this special day, I could feel the happiness that she was exuding. She was about to marry her beloved soulmate, Stephen. For that reason, her emotions can be felt heartily.

This isn’t their first marriage and each of them has their own children. Being a parent myself, I understand the commitment and sacrifice that we have to make for the sake of our children as they become our topmost priority. Let alone being a single parent. Understandably, they have to sacrifice a lot more, nurturing their children and making sure they grow up healthily.

When the children are older and more independent, Stephen and Jennifer met and started seeing each other. What bliss it is when they decided to tie the knot. And to spend their lives together in their autumn years.

The solemnisation was a small event. With just a handful of people, attended by Stephen and Jennifer’s families and a couple of good friends. Held inside The Knolls, the restaurant is located within the tranquil and luscious landscaped grounds of Capella Singapore. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. This union of hearts was absolutely divine!

Intimate weddings are brilliant and beautiful. The onset of the coronavirus pandemic has given rise to a certain trend in weddings that no one had predicted. Intimate weddings are the new normal, and the new normal is here to stay.

“So how does it feel like having a small wedding?” I asked the newlywed, Eric and Junie. The couple felt more relaxed because they were surrounded by close-knit friends and family, and they felt more at home with their guests.

Keeping a beautiful wedding simple. Despite all the measures implemented in Phrase 2 wedding, Eric and Junie had gone ahead with a 20 pax wedding in July. That day was also my first wedding after a super long break. I couldn’t express how happy I was holding my camera shooting again. I’m really thankful that we actually went ahead with this small celebration and photographing this meaningful wedding.

Personally, I think that intimate weddings can have just as much of an impact as a large celebration. The love and warmth can be easily felt for sure. I can get used to this new normal.

Shooting a post-wedding right after the small merrymaking is getting increasingly popular too. A wedding used to be involved in a full day of celebration. Hence, with time on our hands and the couple still drowning in their happiness and excitement, it is the perfect game plan to do a post-wedding shoot. Eric and Junie, and myself did just that. So, watch out this space for their post-wedding images.

“Will you meowy me?”

So what do you get when two cat-lovers get married? A purr-fect wedding! Goodness gracious, I just had to laugh at myself for being so lame! I need to, just to keep my sanity and positivity in check, after surrounded by all the sad news in these unprecedented times. And which is the very reason why I’m sharing Aschkan and Stacy’s fun-loving and light-heartening wedding, that was impregnated with hilarious and jovial moments.

I remembered that moment when Aschkan and Stacy were about to slice the wedding cake and Stacy almost broke out into tears. Not only the cake was such lovely made, but it was also designed like a cat. It just felt so wrong to cut the cat, isn’t it?

On a serious note, Aschkan and Stacy’s wedding is perfect. Packed with so much warmth and fun, lots of laughter and love, this is one cat-themed wedding that I really enjoyed. In fact, this is my first one-of-a-kind wedding to take. From the fabulous feline details to honour the couple’s love for kitties, to the day filled with loop of loves, there wasn’t a moment in time that I had the chance to put my cameras down. Not that I’m complaining, but on the contrary, I was excited! So watch out and be patient with the tonnes and tonnes of photos below.

I love cats and I love weddings. It is just so brilliant to incorporate cats into weddings. It’s like one of my favorite things ever. So hopefully this series of wedding images can inspire you to have your pets be part of your wedding day as well, because let’s be real… they’re not just pets, they’re our children, our family.

The first time we met was through FaceTime. While this is highly unusual, it happens from time to time when the couple doesn’t stay in Singapore. Simone, being the native Singaporean, moved permanently to Bristol in United Kingdom for work. And that was how she met the love of his life, Howard who is a native from United Kingdom.

Without a doubt, destiny is amazing simply, having two individuals from across the world to meet and fall in love. And they are now tying the knot together. Well, technically they are already married in UK, I have seen their UK wedding album at their wedding reception while I was shooting. Marvellous pictures with the whole setting in UK was so fairy-tale like, iconic English castle in the background and vast open green fields that meet the blue sky on the horizon. Gosh, those pictures sure made me so envy to do wedding photography over there. 

As I switched on the FaceTime, two black figures against a back-lit window came onto the screen. Well, I didn’t ask them to move away from the window as I thought it is not important to see their appearance in details. Conversely, their mysterious appearance made me look forward to meeting them even greater. The chat was smooth sailing and they went ahead to confirm my service at the end of our conversation. 

Ever a delight, it is with great pleasure to meet such lovely and decisive couples who believe in my works. Congratulations to Howard and Simone! It was an honour to have been a part of their wonderful wedding.

This is the second part to Joshua and Huiyi’s beautiful wedding that happened in the evening. If you missed the first part, here’s the link.

Joshua and Huiyi celebrated their lovely union over at this breathtaking and mystical lush woodland – Nosh, lit by tiny tear drop-shaped fairy lights which resemble stars in the dark of night. The atmosphere was just so romantic, just the perfect venue for the newly wed. Nosh is undeniably one of my favorite venues in Singapore.

I remembered the night filled with warmth, not from the weather but from the couple, family and friends. Laughter echoed throughout the night with my occasion smiles behind the camera. They are not wrong when they said that laughter is contagious. Just look at Huiyi’s bubbly laughs and I’m pretty sure any blues will be uplifted.

It was a delightful wedding and I really enjoyed myself tremendously, taking down precious moments for Joshua and Huiyi. Blessed marriage to them and enjoy the photos!

Finding a kindred spirit is one of the most joyous experiences a person can have. And I can recognize Joshua and Huiyi as kindred spirits as soon as we met. No doubt I can see the special connection that they have from the time that I spent together with them. They shared the same beliefs, attitudes and feelings, and all of these built that special bond which joined them.

Joshua and Huiyi make such a lovely couple. And we made some really nice photos during their pre-wedding shoot. Check out their pre-wedding photos here.

When the couple is so in love, I felt the need to capture those emotions down. As a result, there are tonnes of beautiful photos. I don’t think anyone is complaining. Haha! Because of this, I decided to make this post into two parts; the morning and the evening. So do watch out for Part 2 coming up really soon!
