Celebrating Marcus + Amanda
A wedding filled with colour, style sass and dancing was the order of the day for Marcus and Amanda who tied the knot at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore. The hotel’s ballroom and foyer offered the perfect setting for a vintage-themed wedding with its warm-toned carpets and elegant chandeliers.
A nod to the early 50s, the couple rode around in a cyan-coloured vintage Volkswagen Kombi camper. En route to the hotel they stopped by Kuang Chee Teng Temple to pay respects to their ancestors.
The guest reception table was elaborately decorated with photos and calligraphy art pieces personally painted by Amanda, plus retro-styled accessories and a Lego tower with Superman and Wonder Woman characters. Even the wedding programme was printed in the form of an old newspaper. Surrounded by beautiful jars of colourful blooms set on short wooden stumps, the soon-to-be-wed couple exchanged vows against giant scroll calligraphy-ied with their favorite bible phrases.
Guests turned up for the occasion in themed attire — suspenders and bowties for the men, while the ladies sported polka dots, stripes, vibrant prints, wide headbands and fancy fascinators. Amanda wore a lace, off-shoulder midi gown by Valens Couture adorned with a string of pearls. Her bouquet of flowers was a mix of vivid and bright colours — purple, fuchsia, orange and white roses, yellow daffodils, pink mums and dark red gerberas. Marcus dressed down in a vest and bow tie ensemble by Common Suits.
After a heart-warming solemnization, lunch commenced in the ballroom for 150 guests. One of the highlights was Amanda’s walk-in with her father where they both danced their way into the ballroom to Jack Johnson’s Better Together. It was truly a Happy Days affair as the couple and guests joined in the fun on the dance floor.
